Dear Lynn, What began as a reply to Sarah Fox, synchronically turned into the "Sinking of the Queen" reflective essay you wanted.....via "stream of consciousness".....Anjelica .....P.S. I will be doing that political cartoon showing the convergence on the DSM and I think everyone will see the analogy!

In terms of Native American "Fetish" and animal totems I would guess your last name is in keeping with being a "Foxy Lady".....as in Jimmy Hendrix's song , but also in being as "clever as a fox"......In that regard, I believe quite a number of us are "Running with the Foxes", as well as Running With The Wolves....aka. "The Wild Woman Archetype" , of Clarissa Estes' book......
 
I agree that a major motivation of our accusers is selfishness and self-centeredness and driven by an ego-inflated "hero or zero" personality type seeking personal gain, fame and fortune.....but that is exactly what lends itself to working with others who are also trying to "cash" in on us.....and projecting their "shadow selves" on to us......They join ranks around a common purpose and focus or converge on a common enemy. A converging lens is defined as one that increases the convergence or decreases the divergence of a beam of light passing through it.....Narrowing of focus to a point, to make a point is what narrow-minded individuals and good politicians do....They narrow divergent interests down to a common interest, and they narrow their focus on a common enemy....Bigots and "well intentioned" reformers do it all the time......So do self-righteous religious leaders....... Convergences of self interest, even fanatical self-interest is what gives impetus and movement to political movements.....even fanatical ones of seemingly disparate and strange "bedfellows"....
 
Just think of the strange and malignant bond of Roy Cohn - a self-hating bisexual Jew, and Joseph McCarthy, himself suspected of malignant bisexuality - forming a common witch hunt against both Communists and homosexuals, alike, seeing them and treating them as one and the same.........One of the residual effects of this is the fanatical castigation of long-haired political activists of the 1960's and early ' 70's as "long-haired pinko hippy fags" )...........In politics, unlikely or seemingly incomprehensible convergences and symbiotic relationships such as Cohn/McCarthy are known as "Strange Bedfellows" : Common or similar interests in uncommon, unrelated, dissimilar and often disparate individuals....This is no different in nature...In biology : CONVERGENCE : the formation of similarities in unrelated organisms living in the same environment....The basis for SYMBIOSIS : the living together of two dissimilar organisms in close association or union, especially where this is advantageous to both, as distinguished from parasitism.....The greater the disparity, the more incredulous and unlikely the relationship would seem to be......
 
Today we have a threat to our own transexual community, as dangerous and as destructive to individual lives....our lives....as destructive as Cohn/McCarthy were.....simply by publicly accusing us of being homosexual men or male paraphiliacs.......I'm talking about those two self-righteous and strange bedfellows : Bailey/Derbyshire .......One of the pair.....J. Michael Bailey, supposedly "gay" and "trans- friendly" ( a Homophiliac/Transphiliac , in keeping with Dr. Money's or even Dr. Ray Blanchard's terminology), converging or joining ranks with the other strange bedfellow.....John Derbyshire, who is unquestionably not "gay" friendly or "trans" friendly (Homophobic/Transphobic), again to borrow from Money/Blanchard's nomenclature).....Two, seemingly disparate individuals, (essentially not alike), seemingly having nothing in common....one, seemingly innoxious, benign and meek and mild mannered; the other, most noxious, obnoxious and malignant to the GLBT community....a card carrying "gay-basher" if there ever was one. [Editor's note: Anjelica reveals Bailey and Derbyshire as in a symbiotic relationship, while each has a parasitic relationship with the trans community.]

Speaking of gay-bashing, in his book, Gay, Straight and In-Between, (PP.108-110), listen to what Dr. Money says on p.110 ....(and read it as "Transexual-bashing also)........quoting Dr. Money :
 
"Scratch the surface of the self-righteous and find the devil. This is a maxim of widespread applicability, not only to the self-righteous in high places of homophobic power, influence, and authority...[but for all] gay-bashing [transexual bashing (sic)] hoodlums who......exorcise their own homosexual [transexual (sic)] guilt by assaulting and maybe killing them " [the homosexuals]......
 
 
In the same book, Gay, Straight and In-Between (p.109), Dr. John Money describes an absolutely intriguing psychological profile of malignant bisexuality....i.e. homophobic/homophilic ... ( incidentally a definition he applies most accurately to both Roy Cohn and Joseph McCarthy" ).....
.
"The sabotage of others is carried out professionally by some individuals with the syndrome of malignant bisexualism. Their internal homophobic war against their own homosexuality becomes externalized into a war against homosexuality in others. The malignant bisexual becomes a secret agent, living in his own private and secret homosexual world, while spying on its inhabitants, entrapping them, assaulting and killing them, or, with less overt violence, preaching against them, legislating against them, or judicially depriving them of the right to exist".......
 
 
Just change "homophobic" to "transphobic" and "homophiliac" to "transphiliac" and most importantly, change the syndrome of "malignant bisexualism" to "malignant transexualism" and you have a psychological Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde profile that fits J. Michael Bailey to a "T".....( as in "knowing his "T" - meaning knowing the truth about someone).....( Should I have said Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde/Miss Hyde ? ) ....STRANGE........
 
I've known Mike Bailey for almost ten years, mostly his Dr. Jekyll side, it is only recently that I have become aware of his own Mr. Hyde....A strange Mr. Hyde who writes so disparagingly of myself, my friends and our "family" - the transexual community.....His book is malicious and insulting.....The cover is degrading and intentionally derogatory; this sets the tone for the malignment of transexuals within....He belittles us, depreciates us and minimizes the value of our "heart-felt" aspirations....our spirit and our female souls.....This is not the Michael Bailey I had grown to know, respect, trust and deeply care about.......
 
Strange ......This relationship I thought I had with him.....Strange.....This Bailey I knew and respected and cared about.....so different from the narrow-minded person who wrote The Man Who Would Be Queen....Strange , but I now see the book as Bailey's "Shadow " autobiography....he is the man who would be queen....I always knew he was attracted to sexy, feminine transexuals, ( to quote myself from Bailey's book : "Cher calls them 'transie-sniffers'. I [Bailey] will stick with "men with sexual interest in she-males". (p. 187).....
 
Elsewhere on the same page, Bailey writes..."Ray Blanchard is the only researcher who has studied men who are sexually attracted to she-males.....about half [50%] of men who sought she-males were cross-dressers. Blanchard thinks that a significant number of men who want she-males are "partial autogynephiles" - they are primarily aroused to the image of themselves as she-male. Blanchard says [these men are] "scrambled up heterosexual men"......
 
I know for a fact that Michael Bailey is a "scrambled up heterosexual man".....You connect the dots...fill in the blanks....do the math : Bailey is attracted to she-males and preop transexuals....Blanchard says about 50% of these are cross-dressers.....I'd place a large bet on that "Filly" if this was a horserace....besides, I have insider information from the female jockey who rode this horse....I definitely consider this "Filly" to be a sure thing....an auto-guy-kind of a Filly....
 
All I can say is "It takes one to know one and I have known and studied quite a few.....Bailey considers me one of the deepest and most creative thinkers on this sort of stuff.....Let's just say Bailey and J. Edgar Hoover had more in common then just being obsessed with homosexuals....The old gray mare, he ain' t what he seemed to be or was exactly what she seemed to be.......Strange, indeed!........Truth is stranger then fiction and Bailey's book is fiction....based on Ray Blanchard's fiction....I wonder what wardrobe is in his closet?....Or John Derbyshire's.....Strange bedfellows.......
 
All very strange, indeed....Dr. Strangelove, Dr. Sex.....Dr. Jekyll meets his other shadow self, Mr. Hyde, and the projection of that shadow self, that he tries desperately to "Hyde"....the visible and malignant John Derbyshire.....Hokus Pokus.....SYMBIOSIS.....Now you see it, now you don't........
 
I ask you " Now do you see it?"...............It is most crucial to understand this concept.....this schizoid symbiosis of split personality types, these malignant transexual/transvestite types, that seems incredible, inextricable and yet, inevitable....this meeting of warped minds and forming a sacred and secret union.....It is a QUEER/QUEER MARRIAGE of strange and disparate bedfellows...of Roy Cohn and Joseph McCarthy, of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dr. Bailey and Mr. Derbyshire, Dr.Blanchard and "Mr." Lawrence, et al....(John Henry Press, The National Academies and the National Review (This very major right wing magazine has Derbyshire as contributing editor.... he recently, and "coincidentally", just wrote a "rave" review of Bailey's book for that magazine....).....
 
Coincidence....There are no coincidences.....This convergency is no coincidence, it is a conspiracy.....but what is its agenda?....Where it is headed?.......Where they are all converging and focusing their attention is exactly where we are going to be....And what are we going to do....We are going to sink that "Queen", before they reach their destination.....the DSM ....
 
On p.176 of his book, Bailey ponders wishfully...." With luck, the next revision of the DSM will distinguish "homosexual" from "autogynephilic" transsexualism"........DON'T BET ON IT....... Luck has run out for the man who is a queen....Mary !".......The Queen Mary, aka H.M.S. Bailey, aka.Titanic has hit the large "transexual" iceberg (that the captain of the "Queen" never paid any attention to anyway)....and now it is too late....She is going down and taking Blanchard, Lawrence, Derbyshire, et al with it.....
 
We are all responsible for this.....!! THE SINKING OF THE "QUEEN" !! .....but no one is more responsible for it's demise than J. Michael Bailey , himself....He knew his book was full of holes and would not float for long....but he launched it anyway.....Strange , sad and tragic....a comedy of errors....They should have checked the FACTS.....Bon Voyage ! Dr. Sex....Bon Voyage ! Love Boat ...... I mean Sex Boat/Book......

Dear Lynn, Here is a series of political cartoons I think you will like............a prophecy for the community.......as history will look back on our time:
 
"Don't worry....Be happy.....I assure you the sky is not falling....Just the opposite.....We've got them on the run,.....By "we" I mean the whole Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Trans community.....A quote comes to mind (the author of which I have no idea)....It is "Desperate times call for desperate measures" .....It's all a matter of keeping this all in historical rather then "hysterical" perspective .....These are desperate times for them, the homophobics and transphobics, not us.....and they are the ones taking desperate measures, trying to keep their "Queen Mary", aka. H.M.S. Bailey, aka. S.S. Titanic from sinking and taking Blanchard, Lawrence, Zucker, Bradley and the whole Clarke Institute down with the "Queen"......
 
But it is too late, The Queen has already miscalculated the size and hidden dimensions of the transsexual iceberg that would not budge or crack or melt but has instead split the seams of the Queen wide open and she/he is going down .....Anjelica, aka.
