EECS 494: Computer Game Design and Development

Final Projects

John Laird

December 2007

These games were created for University of Michigan, EECS 494: Computer Game Design and Development in Fall 2007 and run on Windows PCs. We had over 250 people come and play them at our end of the year showcase.

Many of the games require 3D hardware acceleration and will not run on older PCs. Some even require the newest graphics cards, and a few require Xbox controllers.

You can download .zip files of the games by clicking on the game names below. Once downloaded, you must unzip each program and follow the installation instructions.

Most users will need to also download an update to DirectX. This is necessary for all of the games and can be downloaded from Microsoft here.

The games are listed in alphabetic order.

The Top games in showcase

  1. Dodge this – Split screen Dodge Ball for Two Players
  2. Paint Wars – A single or multi-player (with Wiimotes) that is loads of fun.
  3. Fields of Chaos – 3D first-person shooter
  4. Syzygy – A beautiful 2D space game with lots of well-designed levels.
