Btw, Freakonomics is a finalist for the "book most essential to 
conversation in New York" or something.  It's really fun.  Starts with 
"why drug dealers live with their mothers" and ends with baby names. 
(Oh, and of course the now famous analysis of the abortion/crime link.)
Highly recommended.
