META-REASONING
By meta-reasoning we refer to the ability of the architecture
to think about and modify its reasoning process. Reasoning is the
process of inference to form beliefs from other beliefs using
deduction rules. The use of meta-rules has been proposed as a means of
encoding strategies for reasoning. Meta-rules specify which rules
should be considered and in which order they should be invoked. An
architecture that posseses such meta-rules, or a functional
equivalent, will be considered as capable of meta-reasoning.
