Environment
A general description of Homer's environment is given in the architectural
overview. Below are listed the charcteristics of this environment.
Non-Dynamic
Very few changes occur in Homer's environment. Except for a moving ship,
the various objects in the world are motionless. Although the user interacting
with Homer can place objects anywhere in the world and can change the
location of these objects while Homer is active, Homer is generally
run in scenarios with a static environment.
Unpredictable
Changes to Homer's environment come about through arbitrary manipulation
of objects in the environment by the user. Homer has no means of predicting
these changes. For the most part, however, few changes occur in
the environment.
Simulated
Homer exists in a simulated sea-world environment.
Consistant
Homer's perception provides him with a consistant model of the world.
Attributes of perceived objects are fed directly into the episodic memory.
