Reflective Processes
The reflective processes are responsible for providing Homer with
awareness of his past actions and current goals. These tasks entail
accessing the episodic memory and passing information to the
text generator or the planner/reasoner. The first task is accomplished
by examining inform events that
record Homer's perceptions of the world. Realizations are passed on to
the text generator where they are trasnslated into English and output
as text. As examples of realizations, Homer will know when he has arrived or
left somewhere, that he has found or lost something, and that he has seen
something before. The second task envolves monitoring
the episodic memory for inform events that record goals given to Homer.
Two demons in the reflective processes pass goals on to the planner. There
is a demon to handle commands and one to handle questions.
