Knowledge Representation
All of ERE's knowledge is represented symbolically. The
representations of the four knowledge types were not totally clear
from the paper, but my suspicions follow:
It follows that the representation is non-uniform.
Learning
ERE's learning has a deliberative feel.
The compilation of SCRs is certainly deliberative. Causal Theory
repair is certainly deliberative. And the technique for refining the
problem reduction rules I suspect to be also deliberative.
Organization
The architecture is composed of three main
components which support one another, but run asynchronously of each other.
General Performance
Though not illucidated, the general performance of the system is
expected to be fast primarily because of the reactive, real-time
requirements of such a system. The sensing must be constant because
the environment is unpredictable.
