The Social Band
The time scale of human action extends
from the relatively short-term behavior characterized by task behavior
at the rational band to much longer
periods. The chief characteristic of this longer time scale is that
it is larger social; humans move throughout most hours, days and weeks
in social communication with one another. Because the social band
is obviously a very weak band, it is difficult to characterize in more
complete terms. However, additional bands above the social band might
include historical and evolutionary epochs as well.
