Ability to Learn
Learning was not implemented in the Teton architecture, but the author
provided an extensive discussion on how learning could effect the
process of goal reconstruction. Van Lehn argues that the primitive
mechanism of memory management is cognitively impenetrable
but the methods of goal reconstruction can be enhanced through
learning. In other words, one's short term memory and goal stack will
be overwritten at some point no matter how good your memory. Memory
can be improved but to a limited extent. One can also learn better
methods of reconstructing old goals as well.
