Properties of Soar that Agree with the Basic Shape of Human Cognition

Since Soar has been proposed as a Unified Theory of Cognition, it is important to examine the properties of the Soar architecture that are consistent with this proposal. In Unified Theories of Cognition, Allen Newell identified the following characteristics of the Soar architecure that are consistent with the basic shape of human cognition (from Figure 4-24, page 227):
