Impasse-Driven Processing
Impasses in Soar occur
whenever there is a lack of knowledge about how to proceed in a
particular situation or problem. Thus, behavior in Soar is driven
by these impasses; when impasses do not occur, behavior follows an
established, predictable path. This impasse-driven control also
gives rise to an ability to
reflect as
problem solving progresses.
