Methodological Assumptions of the Soar Architecture

Soar (which stands for State, Operator And Result) is a cognitive architecture that was designed and built with some specific assumptions about its purpose and subsequent use, based on some motivating hypotheses. These assumptions are captured in the following methodological assumptions:

Focus on the Cognitive Band
Make no Distinction between Human and Artificial Intelligence
Employ a Small Set of Orthogonal Mechanisms
Push the Architecture to the Extreme
