Deliberative Learning in PRODIGY
PRODIGY was designed so that it could decide when to learn, or to learn
deliberately. This is in contrast to the
reflexive
learning exhibited by other systems. Thus, learning in PRODIGY requires
a meta-reasoning capability which
determines the usefulness of knowledge to be learned.
