Motivation of the Study
Investigators in the field of
artificial
intelligence or
AI are concerned
with the development of
architectures
that facilitate the approximation of
a knowledge-level system.
Each author
emphasizes a subset of the
capabilities hypothesized to be
required of an intelligent agent and presents an architecture
that supports or provides these capabilities.
The objective of this set of documents,
organized as part of the requirements of
EECS 547 Cognitive Architectures at the
University of Michigan,
is to provide some rational, structured
access to an analysis of certain architectures. The aim is to facilitate both
an understanding of current architectures and provide insight
to the development of future,
improved intelligent architectures.
