Modular Organization

The basic integrated agent is an ideal example of modular organization. The text interpreter and generator are totally separate from the planner. More significantly, the former only have access to knowledge in the lexipedia, while the latter only references generic memory. The two memories are completely independent, because although certain pieces of knowledge may be included in both, there is no communication between the two. There is communication between the natural language modules and the control modules, but this is limited and follows a restrictive protocol.
