John Laird

Our illustrious leader developing his architectural analysis of a blackboard system on a blackboard.

Professor Laird, rarely seen without a piece of chalk in his hand, provides indespensible wisdom and guidance with the aid of his fabulously complex blackboard diagrams. Not to be confused with a knowledge system, in this context a blackboard refers to a wall sized, rectangular piece of slate, usually black but in some instances green in color. Blackboards have an interesting architectural property that lends itself to the display and easy removal of multi-hued calcium carbonate based subastances. Curiously, the environmental factors motivating the implementation of blackboard systems have, in the past, been poorly studied. Here you see Professor Laird presenting his groundbreaking work on this very subject.
