Dynamic Environments for Subsumption Architecture

Dynamic Environments for Subsumption Architecture

The subsumption architecture was explicitly designed to operate in a dynamic environment. Architectures based on traditional planning algorithms have exhibited poor performance in environments which require regular replanning and updating of their world model. Subsumption architectures, on the other hand, can guarantee real time performance due to their simple navigation strategies, lack of explicit representation and reflexive response to stimuli.
