Taskability in Soar
Taskability in Soar
In general, Soar is not very taskable at run-time: it operates
according to the contents of its long-term
memory on the current problem. However, productions could be
designed to direct Soar's work on different problems (or different
aspects of the same problem) based on external stimuli. While this
may seem artificial at best, work with NL-Soar, a natural language system
realized within the Soar architecture, has
shown that natural language commands (including instructions) can be operationalized
into directions for task behavior in Soar. Thus, taskability is Soar
remains an unresolved issue and is being addressed.
