Reactivity in Soar
Reactivity in Soar
Soar's recognitional memory allows it
to react to changing situations in a dynamic environment. When a sensor
detects a change, it relays this information to working memory (via encoding productions). If the input is
appropriate for the current context,
productions may fire in the current decision cycle to act on it
immediately. If the input is not within the current context, no
action will be taken because no productions will fire. This
modulation of perception with respect to the current context gives
Soar saliency in domains
that require perception and coordinated action, such as those for robotics.
