Generality in Soar
Generality in Soar
Soar is intended to exhibit general,
intelligent behavior and has been applied to a variety of
different tasks. The tasks to which Soar is best applied are those
that are primarily search-based,
knowledge-based, learning or robotic. Soar is less applicable to
highly algorithmic tasks (i.e., those with a direct path from the
initial to final state), heavily numeric tasks, or tasks requiring a
detailed analysis of large data bases. Some examples of this
generality are presented in terms of Soar's overall capabilities.
