Multi-Method Learning in Soar

One of Soar's basic assumptions is that single, orthogonal mechanisms can be employed to achieve specific functionality. This is true of learning in Soar; chunking is the only architecturally- supported learning mechanism. However, while chunking is analogous to explanation-based learning at the level of the architecture, other learning paradigms have been successfully built on top of the basic Soar architecture, utilizing both the chunking mechanism and the other architectural components.
