Casual Commitment in Prodigy Architectures

Casual Commitment in Prodigy Architectures

Prodigy assumes that control rules will be present for all important decisions. If no control rules apply, Prodigy makes a quick, arbitrary choice. If the choice leads to failure and backtracking is necessary, Prodigy learns a control rule to guide the decision in subsequent problems. The purpose of this strategy is to rely on learning to provide knowledge directly rather than attempt to make a rational decision without relevant knowledge.
