Psychological Validity of Icarus
Psychological Validity of Icarus
The notion of probabilistic hierarchies is consistent with many psychological
reports, and can be adapted to account for three broad empirical regularities
noted in the literature: basic-level effects, typicality effects, and fan
effects. Also, any rote learning can be easily modeled.
Furthermore, Icarus'
approach to problem solving has links to psychological results.
Interestingly, Icarus also
seems to demonstrate to the same deterioration of performance with increased
speed of activity that humans demonstrate with work.
