Simulated Worlds and Homer

Simulated Worlds and Homer

Homer exists in a two-dimensional sea-world environment which was chosen as most conducive to applying the agent in the real world. This simulated environment allows the agent to operate with a symbolic perception mechanism, supporting perfect agent actions and a perfect sense of time. Operating in a simulator allows the designers to focus on higher-level cognitive functions and ignore low-level implementation issues.
