Graceful Degradation in the Adaptive Intelligent Systems Architecture
Graceful Degradation in the Adaptive Intelligent Systems Architecture
Events of varying priorities require
different response times, and an AIS must
adjust its reasoning activity accordingly. When a high-priority event comes
in, work of lower priority must take a back seat. The system should
continue to make progress toward all goals, but the highest priority goals
should receive the most attention. Meta-knowledge can store this type of
information.
