Adaptive Intelligent Systems Architecture Methodological Assumptions
The Adaptive Intelligent System (AIS) architecture
was designed to reason about and interact with other dynamic entities in
real time.
It is patterned after the model set by
human intelligence,
and seeks to encompass the following abilities:
- The architecture should display versatile and flexible problem solving
capabilities which continuously adapt to the circumstances of a
dynamic environment.
- It should, upon encountering unexpected situations, decide whether to and
how to respond.
- An AIS should focus attention on the most
critical aspects of the current situation.
- It should be able to operate continuously
without needing to be rebooted.
- Finally, an AIS should respond in
real time, and be able to coordinate its
efforts with external agents in the domain.
