Process Control in Adaptive Intelligent Systems Architectures
Process Control in Adaptive Intelligent Systems Architectures
AIS agents have been implemented to perform several tasks that can be
cast in the domain of process control, such as monitoring of hospital
patients (the
Guardian agent), materials
processing, aircraft control, and tutorial instruction.
Each of these tasks share fundamental requirements for perception and action, cognition, and attention . In each task the agent must plan to achieve goals, continually monitor the
progress of a system, diagnose exceptional conditions,
predict the impact of
events on the likelihood of achieving its goals, and revise plans
as necessary.
